Campus Goal
Re-vegetate a denuded campus entrance resulting from a traffic engineering project and provide a reforested landscape to re-create a woodland entry for the 80-acre campus in the Potomac River watershed.
Our Solution
We created three planting environments in which to integrate native Potomac Valley plants, stone walls, and bio-swales for stormwater management. Today, the campus boasts a lush entry that provides shade, habitat and rich tapestry of native plants over four acres.
At each visit to Potomac, we are taken by a lush landscape that welcomes and shades our arrival. The former flow of muddy stormwater has stopped during summer thunderstorms, too.
